The former Spaghetti Warehouse, once the anchor for Bricktown, is being targeted by the Oklahoma City Urban Renewal Authority for possible blight action following the boarded-up property recently being added to Oklahoma City's abandoned building list.
The Oklahoma City Urban Renewal Authority on Wednesday unanimously approved a proposal to add the century-old warehouse to an existing redevelopment plan. Cathy O'Connor, director of the Urban Renewal Authority, promised the agency is not looking to raze the structure but does want to ensure the building is redeveloped and not allowed to further decay.
“It is currently vacant, it is in deteriorating condition and continues to deteriorate,” O'Connor said. “It is our goal that it be redeveloped into a contributing building for Bricktown.”
